Come out and enjoy a discussion of the state of the International and American Art markets, including emerging growth markets.  Our speaker, Carolyn Nagy, will cover the markets for Chinese art, jewelry, wine & watches, and the Contemporary American Art market.  She will also address the importance of appraisals, timing the market, and working in partnership with your client.  Finally, she will discuss Art as an Investment and compare the return on Investment between Art and other Asset Classes.

Carolyn Nagy joined Sotheby’s in 2007. As an Assistant Vice President, Ms. Nagy acts as a liaison between clients in the Mid-Atlantic region and Sotheby’s international offices, providing clients with advice on and assistance with bringing their valuable property to the appropriate market worldwide. Moreover, she oversees all of the formal appraisals requested in this region. Ms. Nagy also lectures to various groups in the Philadelphia region on Sotheby’s services and the current art market. Prior to joining to Sotheby’s, Ms. Nagy was the Cataloguer in the Continental Furniture department at Doyle New York. Ms. Nagy holds a Master’s degree in the Study of Decorative Arts, Design and Culture from the Bard Graduate Center and a Bachelor’s degree from Colgate University.  Ms. Nagy is on the Executive Board of the Woman’s Board of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.  She is also a committee member of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council.
